Oriental Family

Michael Edwards' Fragrance Wheel is an ingenious tool for categorising perfumes, designed to help consumers easily navigate the world of scents. Introduced in 1983, this wheel organises fragrances into primary families and subfamilies, simplifying the process of identifying and comparing scents based on their key characteristics. The wheel is divided into four main fragrance families: Floral, Oriental, Woody, and Fresh, each with its own set of subfamilies that showcase the complexity and diversity of perfumes.

Oriental Family

The Oriental family is known for its warm, exotic, and intense compositions, often featuring spices, resins, and vanilla. A newer addition to this family is the gourmand subcategory, which highlights sweet, edible notes like vanilla, caramel, and chocolate, giving these fragrances a deliciously inviting twist.
